Hey everyone! At some point in September, we are downgrading this slack space to the Free plan. We’re doing this primarily because Slack has increased the cost to run the “Pro” plan for everyone here by nearly 600% due to how they calculate active users. As a result of this, we will lose the ability to search the slack history beyond 90 days. However, we do have the chats from public channels archived and are considering ways of re-exposing that data, possibly via an AI slack bot in this workspace. If you’ve seen a good implementation of this, or a bad one that shouldn’t be emulated, please let us know! Thanks for being a part of this great community!

The message archive here is an incredible resource, a real shame to lose the search ability but completely understand why. I don't know what is different about the setup with the Dagster slack, but I appear to be able to search older messages through https://discuss.dagster.io/

An issue I have with Meltano support being on Slack is that it’s not Google-searchable. It’s super annoying as a dev 😓 Since you need to archive this workspace, it would be awesome if some channels could be made accessible directly online!

I still feel while chat can be nice.. it makes it hard to search.. hence a https://www.discourse.org/ type of setup can go a longer way towards curating help/good advice

@future-france-61185 we used it for the company slack too, so it made sense for quite a while. We likely would’ve kept paying were it not for the huge price hike 😕

The same issue on our GoodData side, our community has been in free-plan for some time. Your solution is great! Would you be so kind to describe how you get there? 😉 Btw., does this service provide search APIs, which could be embedded to Slack?
