So sorry about that! Someone Zoom bombed us so we kicked anyone we didn't recognize. If you try to join now it should add you to a waiting room and I can let you in

Ah we just wrapped up so that may be why 😞 The YouTube video will be up once it's done processing! We also have Demo Day at the same time tomorrow which will have a demo of Meltano 2.0. If you can make that session it's a great way to see what's new

Hi, does getting funding mean that you can devote some time to connectors? That you need to attract an audience? Many major connectors haven't been updated in a while (e.g., Twitter)? Refactoring Big4 (twitter, linkedin, fb, google ads) would help attract an audience.

Hi, @clean-continent-357! Thanks for your question!
does getting funding mean that you can devote some time to connectors?
Now that we have
meltano add
getting connectors directly from the hub (combined with anonymous usage stats), we're going to better be able to advertise back onto the hub which taps and targets are running successfully "in the wild" and which are failing and/or unstable. This gives us the ability to showcase those connectors that are working great for hundreds or thousands of projects. And on the flipside, we'll be able to be very transparent about which connectors are "often installed but seldom working". With that information, we can contact maintainers and we can help drive new community investments, as well as could drive migrations over to the SDK for connectors which need additional bug fixes or improved documentation. What do you think of this?

Thanks AJ, that’s exactly right. And just to make it even more explicit: we do not directly maintain any Singer connectors, but instead focus on providing the tooling and infrastructure that the the Singer ecosystem needs to thrive as an explicitly community-maintained library of connectors, with things like Meltano SDK, MeltanoHub, and MeltanoLabs. The usage data AJ describes will let us better direct the community to where their contributions are most needed, but we do not ourselves allocate time to specific connectors unless we use them ourselves (e.g. tap-gitlab before the GitHub migration) or we consider them in the critical path for end-to-end success with Meltano (e.g. target-snowflake).

@clean-continent-357 Do you have specific problems in mind with those connectors that, if they were resolved, would promote more usage and consequently Meltano usage as well? All 4 have you mentioned have a lot of users hanging around our Slack, so if the problems have issues on the respective GitHub repos, there’s a good chance someone else has also ran into them and may be up for fixing them!
