Hey everyone! I’m working on rewriting the Singer Spec to be a bit more friendly to newcomers and to help it clarify some of the confusing aspects of the original spec. For this first pass I’ve broken it down into a basics and advanced section and taken out most everything that’s not specific to the spec (i.e. how to run on non-Meltano platforms) and things that are better covered by our SDK. I’d love some feedback on the MR I’ve got going to see if it makes sense to everyone.

Thanks Adam! Hopefully I’ve got it right 😅 I’m going to take another pass at it and probably add more to the bottom that’s more Meltano specific and perhaps with some real-world links like you mention

This doc might not be the right place for it, but for me actually getting a tap and target to work together was the "aha" moment I needed

One of the things that’d be really nice for the SingerHub would be a way to view the latest catalog for a given tap

Maybe a companion to this would be a guided tour. Like the one on the singer site that is perpetually broken, except this one would work

Oh yeah, that would be really helpful. Like a visual explorer so I don't need to read JSON in the catalog. They are massive documents
