Hey all! We're looking to utilize DBT for our transformations in Meltano. Is it suggested to do all of our development work for those transformations just in a text editor alongside our Meltano work, or is it easy to have DBT cloud read from a Meltano repository and specifically just edit the DBT code? What I'm basically wondering is if we should use DBT cloud in conjunction with Meltano, and if that is an "up to us" type question

I expect that dbt Cloud should be able to work with your Meltano project repo if it detects that the dbt project is actually inside the

transform

directory, so I'd say it's up to you. @salmon-salesclerk-77709 Do you know for sure?

I actually don’t know if dbt Cloud expects the dbt project to be at the top level or not. I’m looking through their docs to see what they say

Thank you I'll confirm that with them. We'll still be tracking any changes in Git, so we'd be able to catch anything that DBT cloud might be doing when pushing commits, but just wanted to see if that were an option
