For those looking to get familiar with the SDK I can recommend messing around with the LoTR api, I created a tap for it over the weekend, didn't get to adding all the features and endpoints, but a satisfying way to get familiar (after failing to get very far with the Hackernews API). https://github.com/mattarderne/tap-lotr

Amazing! I’d love an MR to get this on MeltanoHub šŸ˜„
m
Haha ok will do, is that here? https://gitlab.com/meltano/hub
t
yep! and https://gitlab.com/meltano/hub/-/merge_requests/129 is an example of a merge request adding a tap šŸ™‚
s
was hoping for the real LotR, am happy i got LotR. if this isn't a meltano competitive advantage, i don't know what is
"a meltano tap is never slow, it completes precisely when it means to"

@matt_arderne - This great! I've actually been wanting to build one for the LOTR ("The One API") for Meltano #C024K9MFEA3!
m
@stephen_bailey yeah timing was good too, just finished reading them partywizard @aaronsteers nice, I presumed you must have built it because you reference it in the video šŸ˜„
a
@matt_arderne, do you need help with the hacker news tap?
m
Hey @albert_m that is kind of you thankyou, currently just working on my 2nd tap for an API we use. I am much more comfortable with how they work, so will come back to this hackernews one on the weekend šŸ˜„ (taps all week, taps all weekend lol) https://github.com/mattarderne/tap-hackernews
a
@matt_arderne, no problem. I am about to submit a merge request for my second tap. šŸ˜„
