I was introduced to Gather today in a Meltano social call - what do people think about this?

I spent some time there today, had a random video conversation (in English) with a nice gentleman from Vietnam. After meandering around for a while, I ended up sitting at a "desk" with a pomodoro timer, and then basically forgot I was logged in after 1 cycle each of work and relax. I guess I see at the same time why (1) it's absolutely not necessary but at the same time (2) it does introduce a physicality and personality that many people could be missing in the move to all-remote.
I'm curious for those who've tried it: what did you really like? what would you tempt you to dip in again occasionally? would it make a difference (positive or negative) if you knew you might (on purpose or accidentally) run into colleagues there?
