I very much dislike the term “Reverse ETL”, but this is a good overview https://medium.com/memory-leak/reverse-etl-a-primer-4e6694dcc7fb
Made me aware of https://www.grouparoo.com/docs which I didn’t know was a thing.

Haven't heard of this grouping of companies. Reverse ETL is a terrible name. Data Integration, Life Cycle Management, is kinda sorta what they are doing. Better name may be an ODS implementation inside of modern warehouses? (Not a good name but maybe it'll spur an idea or two)
What I love is bringing together all of the tooling that data teams have been building with data integration.

Hey Meltano! I'm Brian from Grouparoo. And I more than happy to get a better name. Words are hard 🙂
Many things would be better than somehow the "reverse" of <random acronym>

Grouparoo is very interesting! Wish you the best of luck, my mind spins trying to keep up with all of the ETL players (Legacy, and new), and the introduction of the ELT ideas (have to limit myself to only spin on this for so long every week)

Thanks @visch - i'd be happy to chat through your use cases sometime to see if we can help. A big part of IT management are groups of people in the form of access control lists, etc. A key reason grouparoo could help is that is person-centric and has these group membership concepts built in.
v
Yeah let's chat not sure grouparoo is the right fit for me but running my use case by you would be interesting. https://auto.autoidm.com/meetings/dvisch if you want to grab a time to chat!
