<!channel> 🎉 We’re excited to officially launch
MeltanoHub today! The big focus for this launch was making
MeltanoHub for Singer a fantastic place to discover the wide range of taps and targets within the Singer
singer logo ecosystem. And the really big news is:
There are over 200
taps and
targets already on the Hub! 🤯
This is by far the largest collection of open source connectors available today - which shows the power of Singer and its community.
We wrote a
blog post on our goals with the hub, but the short version is we wanted this launch to do 3 things:
1. Showcase the majority of the connectors that already exist within the larger Singer ecosystem
2. Make the directory of taps and targets better than what exists today
3. Enable any person or organization to build on top of the large library of Singer connectors
We believe we’ve achieved that and we’re very proud of this first iteration! We’re doing all of this
out in the open too, so that the community can help improve the overall quality of the ecosystem.
Every tap and target page shows GitHub metrics about the connector, is backed by a YAML file (validated by a JSON Schema), and all of the data is available via an
API! (The data is also pulled and curated using
meltano, but we’ll go into more details on that in a future blog post!)
That said, there’s
a lot of work we still want to do and we’ll continue to make investments in the Hub, the
SDK, and of course Meltano as the team continues to grow (speaking of, reach out to
@Douwe Maan
if you’re interested in our open positions).
Please checkout
MeltanoHub and the
blog post and feel free to share on social media!
Thanks to the entire community for helping to make this possible! 😄
