Case: Meltano stopped working after 5 days continuous work. When running command:
invoke airflow scheduler
it returns
Copy code
File "/projects/.meltano/orchestrators/airflow/venv/lib/python3.6/site-packages/psycopg2/__init__.py", line 127, in connect
    conn = _connect(dsn, connection_factory=connection_factory, **kwasync)
psycopg2.OperationalError: could not connect to server: Connection refused
Is the server running on host "X.X.X.X" and accepting
        TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
`Airflow metadata database could not be initialized:
airflow initdb
failed` The thing is that it worked flawlessly for 5 days and now this error comes up with no changes to the database settings whatsoever. Any suggestions? Best Regards
d
@zlatan Unfortunately there's nothing about that error message that suggests it has do to with Meltano or Airflow specifically, and I can't think of anything that would affect Meltano's or Airflow's ability to connect with Postgres, that would result in this error. I think something actually changed in your environment or on your network that is stopping your Meltano machine from connecting with that Postgres server and IP. Have you verified that you can connect with it from another machine?
z
Hm, weird. Yup, I am connecting through ssh connection.
d
And when SSH'ed into that machine, you can connect with the same Postgres server using the psql CLI or some other tool?
z
That was interesting. Seems like the Postgres server had issues, restarted it and it worked. Hadn't happened before. Thanks.
d
All right, I'm glad it wasn't Meltano 😄
