I'm enjoying the
meltano select...
feature to select properties to include. Like, a lot more than manually editing the catalog files. Now I need to set different metadata values. How could I go about that?
d
I'd love to hear your thoughts on how we could solve that though, if you'd like to comment in the issue 🙂
a
I'll put some comments in. Is there any way to manually set values ATM?
d
@adam_roderick What might work is removing the
discover
capability from your custom tap so that Meltano won't try to automatically run discovery mode and apply the
meltano select
rules, and then manually dropping a file in
.meltano/run/<extractor>/tap.properties.json
You'll still be able to run
meltano invoke <extractor> --discover
without that capability being set, so you could still run that and use it to programmatically generate the final file, instead of hard coding it and `cp`'ing it into place
a
Will
meltano select
work if discovery is disabled?
d
@adam_roderick No, it's either-or right now, between having Meltano generate the catalog file, or doing it yourself
Thanks for commenting on the issue, I'll have a look today or tomorrow!
