working on deployment--should I copy the project's .meltano directory, or run a command in the target container to re-instantiate it?

@adam_roderick
.meltano
is in
.gitignore
for a reason, it's not meant to be transferable between machines 🙂 On the target container, just run
meltano install
and you should be good to go
a
thanks!

As of yesterday, that's now mentioned on the homepage as well: https://meltano.com/#meltano-init
Note that whenever you add a new plugin, it will be installed into your project's (gitignored)
.meltano
directory automatically. However, when you clone or pull an existing Meltano project from version control, you'll want to explicitly run
meltano install
before any other
meltano
commands to install (or update) all plugins specified in
meltano.yml
.
