For what it's worth, I've never experienced serious glitchiness in the 2~3 years I've used Slack (I'm also using an i7 CPU). Also, quite a few organisations I've interacted with recently all use Slack as a more agile way of interacting with customers / coworkers / the general public, and given this is one of the main tools I use every day, it's extremely convenient for me. Not saying that this solution is a good one for everyone, just giving a different viewpoint on the matter 🙂
