I'm running Meltano on Digital Ocean and I'd like to load some data into a Postgres database (also running on Digital Ocean). When I try and use the default PostgreSQL config, I get an error saying it can't connect to the database. I can't seem to edit the
host
setting as it's locked (it doesn't look the same as in this screenshot https://meltano.com/plugins/loaders/postgres.html#intermediate-connecting-meltano-to-an-existing-postgresql-database, where the field is editable)

Hi @al_whatmough, We have locked some settings from the UI for security reasons: so that users of Meltano UI can not change settings that would affect the way Meltano works or pose a security risk (like sending data to a different host)
The solution is that you can change that if you are an admin and have ssh access to the server. Just add a
PG_ADDRESS
Environment variable with whatever the value you want it to be. Or create a
.env
file: .env
Copy code
export PG_ADDRESS=myNEWhost
(I am not sure if you need to restart meltano afterwards, but I think you have to)

Thanks @yannis_roussos! This makes sense, I'll give it a go
