What is Meltano extension developer kit about?

Meltano deeply integrates with plugins like dbt/airflow/superset, right now thats done by building features inside meltano core (e.g. Superset meltano core logic). The EDK is looking to pull that logic out to make it easier for developers to add custom functionality and deeper integrations with other tools wthout having to know the internals of meltano core. Also it allows developers to write different versions of functionality based on their needs. Check out https://github.com/meltano/meltano/issues/6130#issuecomment-1224474108. Well said, @pat_nadolny! We're working on common patterns and standards so that community members can bring-your-own capabilities and integrations. Where Meltano's SDK for Singer Taps and Targets focuses on connectors, this EDK will focus on an accelerated path to adding transformers, orchestrators, analytics, and other integrations and capabilities.
