If anyone in the community is looking for an issue to contribute back to Meltano, this one could be a nice win. In many places we parse and re-write yaml, such as in

meltano.yml

and

dbt_project.yml

. Currently we don't preserve whitespaces and comments but migrating from PyYaml to Ruamel could resolve this. Anyone used Ruamel previously and/or interested in taking this on? meltano dragon
