Is there an open source data catalog tool that fits well into the meltano+dbt+AWS/redshift ecosystem? I’m just getting my feet wet in the area of data catalogs so you can interpret this request pretty liberally 🙂

@jacob_matson - Are you aware of any implementations using Meltano and Recap?
m
I’m going to try them together soon! Seems like a good case for a utility extension?
j
not yet
but it seems like an obvious fit

@jacob_matson , thanks!

Awesome, thanks, @jacob_matson. If anyone does figure out the integration, would love to see what you come up with. 🚀

Creating our own Meltano-specific catalog syntax vs adopting dbt's syntax or another provider's syntax
Still TBD if Meltano will in the future try to build its own catalog spec, or adopt an existing spec, or even (my favorite option) support multiple possible catalog specs. If multiple, then it could be interesting to have something like Recap as one of the supported catalog formats.
