hey! a friend i have been working on a tool that generates OpenAPI spec from documentation links and then generates airbyte connectors. perhaps it could be valuable to generate meltano/singer connectors from the OpenAPI spec? would love your thoughts and feedback! https://github.com/skyffel/airbyte-connector-generator-poc

the hard (dare I say next to impossible?) part is relationships between "streams" for the automation this is tough. I've written some parsers to pull out the schema for you, and you could do the same for the path but relationship is the real killer. On top of that what's made me really not care about this is that the Specs tend to be 95% followed and then there's edge cases all over it and then you have to override things and it just gets messy
Cool stuff though, personally I think generating an implementation of an SDK template with the API docs fed in could be pretty helpful!

yeah that’s definitely going to be a challenge. curious to hear more about the 5% of edge cases, do you have an example?

https://github.com/AutoIDM/tap-indeed/blob/main/tap_indeedsponsoredjobs/streams.py This one is from an openapi spec (we just copied the schema manually instead of automating it, but pretty much everything in here is an "edge" case) https://github.com/AutoIDM/tap-indeed/blob/main/tap_indeedsponsoredjobs/client.py#L291 etc etc, all very specefic to this api, hard part here is that it's not a fully public API so I can't share the spec and it's not easy to get a cred to test with

yeah gotcha!
