#2350 When a setting is set in `meltano.yml` by one of its `aliases` instead of its name, the alias is also passed to the plugin as a custom setting Issue created by MeltyBot Migrated from GitLab: https://gitlab.com/meltano/meltano/-/issues/2394 Originally created by @DouweM on 2020-10-28 232715 --- Setting
aliases
, like `username` for `target-postgres`'s `user` setting, are supported in the
meltano config <plugin> set <name> <value>
CLI and in the
meltano.yml
config
object. They prevent bugs caused by inconsistent naming between different plugins and different variants of the same plugins, when a user may not know by heart which plugins use
user
and which use
username
. This mostly works, but the alias set in
meltano.yml
is currently also considered a "custom setting", and is incorrectly passed to the plugin by that name and listed as such in
meltano config <plugin>
