Part 2 on my blog post series, which walks through how to create a Slack dashboard using Meltano, Postgres, and Superset is out 🚀 https://preset.io/blog/2020-10-02-slack-dashboard-part-2/ Note: I’ll be changing the title a bit shortly to incorporate the fact that I showcase some of the basic chart creation as well.

Hello @srini_kadamati__apache_superset_, great work on the blog series! I’m trying to follow your guide but I’m stuck at building the number of Monthly new Slack users. It seems to me that the chart of “Monthly message posted” is the same configuration than the “Montly new users”, which seems weird.

glad you found it somewhat useful!
ugh I need to update that blog post, thanks for reminding me
we ended up having to switch to using the
CSV exports for analytics that Slack gives us
its janky but I have a Monday calendar appointment reminder every week to download the Analytics CSV that Slack gives me and I upload it to S3. Then we would sync that to BigQuery via Meltano
I could never get the singer tap for Slack to give me the signup date for new slack members. I think its theoretically possible via the API (esp since we are on a nonprofit plan / not-on-the-free-plan) but we just did a 80/20 and do the CSV export for now!

Thanks for the answer! Well, I’m working with a free plan, so things might be more complicated 😅 I’ll try to see if I find someone that found an automated way of doing it 😉
