Hi all - I'm an active dbt user with a private cloud in New Zealand. Meltano is interesting as we could use our own datacenters to get data to snowflake rather than shipping via Stitch, Fivetran (both transiting US). I'm interested in testing it for replicating our Salesforce instance to snowflake - how stable is it, does anyone have this in production?

@chris_jenkins Welcome!
meltano elt
is plenty stable (as people in this channel will be able to confirm), but your pipeline will only be as stable as the specific tap and target you use, since Meltano is "just" the runner. If you want to learn more about people's experience with
tap-salesforce
(the "official" https://github.com/singer-io/tap-salesforce, or our slightly outdated fork https://gitlab.com/meltano/tap-salesforce) and
target-snowflake
(PipelineWise's https://github.com/transferwise/pipelinewise-target-snowflake, DataMill's https://github.com/datamill-co/target-snowflake, or our slightly outdated fork of the latter https://gitlab.com/meltano/target-snowflake) you'll likely be best off asking in the Singer.io Slack workspace since that's where people discuss taps and targets regardless of the specific runner they're using: https://singer-slackin.herokuapp.com/

Appreciate it, thanks @douwe_maan

@chris_jenkins I'd love to hear your experience with this, once you try it out. We have some customers interested in tap-salesforce. Will you tag me here or in the singer.io slack workspace and let me know how it goes?
c
@adam_roderick definitely - it's not in the next week or two for us, but will definitely report back once we've had a play.
